OK, this would scare the crap out of most people. Imagine you are preparing fish when all of a sudden they start flopping around.
Headless, skinless, zombie fish! Seemingly back from the dead!
The secret lies either in the salt or reaction of the aluminum & lemon. If there is salt present, the sodium in the salt (NaCl) could move through sodium channels in the motor neurons (nerves that control muscle movement), causing an action potential. Essentially it causes the muscle nerves to start firing. Or, the lemon juice and the aluminum created a simple battery and caused the muscles to fire… Or both.
Still… pretty scary.
