Growing up, my family had a cat that used to answer the phone.

He figured out that if he swatted at the phone when it rang, he could make it stop ringing. Unfortunately, he did this to my father’s business line (my father ran a towing company from our house).

I sometimes wonder how much money that cat lost us.

I also wonder about the customers who called us after a car accident, seeking assistance, but only got a cat meowing on the other line.

That mental image makes me smile.
